ASSC in Korea

Last academic year, 2010-2011, some of our members went to Korea for one semester of exchange. In parallel Korean students came to Poland. This grant was covered by “Korea – European Union Global Leadership Program for Sustainable Development” obtained by several partnering universities from Europe and Korea.

Of course like any exchange students in the world we had lots of fun. After all, one knows the world when hits the street and experiences real people and how they really live. However we are also brainiacs and used this time for our professional development too.

We went to Hanyang University and Kongkuk University in Seoul, and also to Ajou University in Suwon. Ajou organizes International Day each semester which gathers considerable media attention.  In Fall Semester 2010 Polish team from Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities together with girls from the University of Warsaw, with Agnieszka Piasecka, a member of Asian Studies Science Club, Martyna Lara Klukowska, Ania Piwowarska and Agata Wisniewska with Tania from Belarus and Esra from Turkey as guests, prepared a winning show. Everyone had lots of fun when lights were off and people enjoyed POI – dance with live fire- with Polish Modern Folk Ethno Music in the background.

Who we are

We are a group of students of Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities based in Warsaw.

Our life and scientific passion is Asia. We travel there, research it and want to share it with the world.

Club activities involve both popular events like local festivals of culture, but also scientific activities, like our own research projects, or conferences we organize. We would like this website to gather more students and young scholars interested in Asian Studies in variety of fields from economy to culture and languages. Everyone is welcome!
